For instance, our recently created cyber-security program is one of the first of its kind offered in the region. Our hospitality management program provides the business foundations to not only get a job in the hotel and restaurant industries, but also to become a successful manager. Design & Multimedia

Our design and multimedia programs prepare students to work in an exciting and growing field that combines creativity and technology, with degree and certificate programs such as graphic and web design or audio and video production. Students also get the opportunity to learn on the latest equipment, which includes our HD video studio and our state-of-the art audio recording studio. Every year students from our program compete successfully in regional design and video competitions against peers from four-year institutions.

Cincinnati State’s engineering technology programs have kept abreast of these changes. Environment

Cincinnati State is a regional leader in preparing students for careers in environmental protection. We were the first community college in Ohio to offer a renewable energy major, and have recently added sustainable agriculture and horticulture programs. Partnerships with local agencies such as the Metropolitan Sewer District and Cincinnati Water Works help to make our programs in wastewater and storm water management among the best in the region. In addition, our construction management program prepares students to earn their LEED green building certification. Students in our Environmental Engineering Technologies program routinely compete successfully against peers from four-year colleges.

Health

Cincinnati State is one of southwest Ohio’s leaders in accredited healthcare education. Whether you’re interested in direct patient care such as nursing or occupational therapy, or excited about a job involving healthcare technologies, such as an EKG technician or laboratory assistant, we have the program for you. We offer seasoned instructors and up-to-date learning labs along with clinical rotations for most programs. All of this contributes to our students’ consistently high pass rates on national and state certification exams.

As the importance placed on physical fitness has grown, Cincinnati State’s programming has kept pace. We have developed new instructor certification courses for programs such as Pilates, yoga, water aerobics, and fitness for special populations. We also offer highly versatile personal trainer and group fitness instructor certification programs that prepare students to pass national certification exams, and open doors for employment at health clubs, corporate fitness centers, aerobic studios, or recreation programs.
